GMC Yukon XL Road Bike Reviews

The GMC Yukon XL is a lightweight road racing style bicycle featuring a 6061 Aluminum frame and aero fork. Alloy frames are not only lighter, but are torsionally stiffer and transfer pedaling energy more efficiently to the rear wheel. The Shimano STI Shifters with their integrated brake levers give you excellent control of shifting and braking. This puts gear changing and braking conveniently in one central location. The Yukon XL also sports a light and strong alloy wheelset and Kenda tires for superior traction and excellent braking response. Small Frame bike ; 20" or 51.0cm, Top Tube 52.5cm, Chain Stay 40.4cm, with a standover height of 30" or 75.5cm. Medium Frame bike; 22" or 56.0cm, Top Tube 55.5cm, Chain Stay 40.4cm with a standover height of 32" or 81.0cm. Large Frame bike; 25" or 63.5cm, Top Tube 59.5cm, Chain Stay 40.8cm with a standover height of 34" or 87.0cm.

Love it5
I bought this a month ago. I've only ridden it once so far, but I love it. Mine came mostly put together. I have an alan wrench set, so it wasn't hard to do the final assembly, though I should probably have it tuned up now by a pro. It's a great bike. Only 14 speeds, but what the heck. I'm not a competition cyclist or anything, but I like to ride, and this is just what I needed. My local bike shop wanted to charge me $1,000 for a bike. I'm sure it would have been better than this, but who cares. It has Shimano components, which are supposed to be good. I rode it 42 miles this past Sunday and everything worked great. I'll update this review later if I have any problems with it.

This Bike is not as advertized !!1
I purchased this bike in May 08, when it was out of stock. It came in a few days ago, and after going over the bike, it turns out that all of the Shimano and Suntour components including the shifters, derailleurs, and crankset have been replaced by very inferior components. I have contacted the US distibutor, and have yet to hear back from him, as to whether he changed the specs or the Chinese company that built the bikes "changed the specs by themselves".
As usual Amazon service has been wonderful. They are taking the bike back for a full refund.
In the meantime, I hope that this review helps the next person and also helps Amazon, as they will be getting a lot of these bikes back, if the persons who buy the bike know what they are looking at.

Nice Bike5
The bike has definitely lived up to my expectations. It has great looks and equally good design. The rear gear shifters/derailleurs are excellent. It was pretty easy to assemble the first time it came. I have been to several rides/tours of about 50 miles and it has been a pleasant ride every time.
A few warnings though. The front derailleurs are not working any more, however, I do not use them anyway. Also, I would recommend replacing the pedals with clips(mine did not come with them).
Quite light and sturdy, it has all the bang for the buck.
I go for 10 mile rides twice a week and the longer tours every fortnight and I would recommend this bike to everyone.

Awesome Bike!!5

This bike is very cool! It is twenty inches tall and is three feet long but goes fast! I have a dirt bike that goes fifty M.P.H. This bike goes fifteen M.P.H. It is easy for me to pop a wheely on this pocket rocket. Don't get a real pocket rocket, they cost a lot of money and go very fast. I recomend this bike for ten and older.

Great for $1504

Hello...
I purchased this for my 5 and 3 year olds, and their friends. I know it says 13 and up, or whatever, but oh well.
It is really about the perfect size for my 3 year old, proportionately. He just pushes it around or drags his feet, though. My 5 year old can ride it, but only for about 10-20 feet at a time. One of their friends, at 8, is starting to get the hang of it, quite well. A couple 11-13 year olds rode it and really liked it.
Aside from that, my friends and I have probably gotten more use out of it than the kids. I would recommend speed bumps to any parent.
Hehehe...
It says a weight limit, but I've well pushed it. My dad, at 190, has ridden it a couple times and a friend, who is quite large, has ridden it.
The biggest downfalls are that it is quite small and underpowered. Even an 8 year old has knees out. A person could probably fit another set of pegs further back and sit more naturally. It does get slow pretty quickly, if you're going up hills, but the battery lasts surprisingly long.

A Great Bike For Us Kids!5

I received the bike for Christmas two years ago. I have to say, I LOVE IT. I recommend this for someone age Nine and up. Maybe Eight. Since this is a pocket bike. It's motorized. This would be a bad idea for a kid who can't ride on a two wheeler bike. Training wheels aren't able to be attached. This is a fast bike too. It goes 15 MPH. A young kid around the age of 5 can't handle a fall at a speed in that range. I'm twelve and I've taken some nasty falls on it. Don't let that make you say "This thing is too dangerous".
This bike was designed to be ridden on pavement. That's how you can go 15 MPH. I don't have pavement where I live so I am forced to ride it in my backyard. It still runs well on grass, gravel and rough surfaces.
This bike is easy to make portable. It weighs about forty five pound and can be put inside of a car trunk. I do that sometimes. To ride it on pavement to really get the adrenaline pumping.
Inside the box, the bike comes with the bike (Of course). And with the front fender. It needs to be put on before riding. I think now it comes with that assembled already. It comes with decals too. It has a charger and it needs to be charged twenty four hours before use. The handlebars must be fixed before too. Move them to any position that you like and tighten them.
